2 Sacs No Heartbeats Yet?

by sandra
(merced)

I went to get a vaginal ultrasound done, the tech saw two sacs but still no heartbeats, one of the sacs is smaller... maybe not fully developed. Should I worry? I dont want to worry if I don't need to.

So confused

My daughter had an early US at 6 weeks... there was one sac but no heartbeat but doc said may have been too early.. she started spotting a couple days later and was told not to worry. Went in for follow up US at 8 weeks...the morning of her appt (before appt) she began bleeding heavily and would not stop. The Follow up US showed 2 sacs, one showed no baby. The one with the baby measured exactly the same size as her 5 week US had measured and there was no heartbeat in either sac. She was told she was likely in the process of a miscarriage. They did not seem very sure of the answers we were getting...Is there any hope?

2 sac - 1 heartbeat
by: Becca Dill

I went to my first obgyn appointment at exactly 8 weeks. This was with the nurse practitioner. I had a transvaginal u/s performed, and she surprised us that we were having twins! She saw baby a just fine, but she had problems getting a good angle of baby b. She told us she didn't really know what to do in twin pregnancy, so she fetched the dr. This dr performed the u/s as well, and she told us that it seems as though the other baby, baby b seems to be absorbing back into my body. The nurse actually was measuring it 3 days behind the healthy baby a. I am so confused, and I really just want an experienced obgyn/technician with experience and state of the art equipment to give me a 100% sure ultrasound. I am pretty sure they shouldn't have even mentioned baby b until they were sure it wasn't viable. I have to wait 2 weeks to even find out the fate of baby b in the smaller sac with no heart beat. So sorry if this isn't well written. I've been a wreck.

Hi all I am 6 weeks, last week on my 5th week I went in for a exam and found 2 sacks one that was smaller than the other and the other with a heartbeat. The smaller one didnt have one yet. My doctor also told me it was so early, that if I had come to my appointment yesterday that the heartbeat might not have even been detected. HE also told me it was to soon to tell the outcome of the smaller sac. Has anyone expericed this?

twin pregnancy

I am now 10 weeks, at 8 weeks I had my first ultrasound and the tech showed me the baby, I had a feeling there were twins so asked, he showed me an empty sac with a yolk sac in it. He asked if I could do a vaginal ultrasound because my uterus is tilted back and he wanted to see if he could see the other baby. Unfortunatly he couldn't and it has been determaned this is a non viable twin. This breaks my heart and I feel a little cheeted just because I had dreams of them and felt there were two from the begining. I am praying the doppler picks up two heartbeats at my first midwife appt in a couple weeks and that twin b was to far back to see as he was complaining that he couldn't get the screen to be bright enough.

I was wondering how far along you were when you had your u/s. I had one yesterday because of cramping on left side 6 weeks LMP. One gestational sac found measures 5 weeks no hb, another possible sac found smaller. The doctor said it wasn't positive of twins. The tech said it could be blood from implantation. I have been ttc for 10 years and was concerned measuring small. This has me more worried as I can't find anyone with a similar story. The doctor seemed to think it wasn't and things would be fine. If anyone has a similar story please share!

Don't worry yet
by: Malorie

How far along you? I was 5 weeks when the doctor found my twins. One sac was empty and much smaller than the other and the other baby measured smaller than 4 weeks. The doctor said I would most likely miscarry the smaller empty sac, but he wanted to see me back in a week. when I went back the following week he found two babies with two heartbeats and they both measured fine. I am now almost 15 weeks pregnant and doing great both babies are actually measuring big. So hang in there you may not be far enough along yet.
