Boy/Girl Evans Twins Nursery – Precious Planet Fun Animal Theme

by Kelly Evans

This is absolutely my dream fun nursery! So many bright colors and animals makes the nursery such an amazing environment! I wanted to find a theme that I was able to have gender neutral but pull a specific animal out for my boy and my girl. It also had to be very “affordable”, it’s twins after all (twice the cost).

The Lion and Polar bear in the Precious Planet bedding theme was just the ticket. It was gender neutral, had a bunch of fun animals and colors. The Precious Planet Theme was very affordable when buying two and would match many of the things we wanted to purchase. We also mixed this with some of the rainforest accessories as you can see in the mobiles (rainforest and precious planet characters are very similar as they are the same maker). We also pulled the characters out of the bedding to be painted on the walls.
To find the right paint colors we just took a piece of the bedding to the store with us and matched it.

The precious planet theme also has matching character toys, swings, floor mats, high chairs, towels, banks, picture frames, books, etc. so it made it easier to find decorations. The changing table mattress cover was made from a precious planet sheet and from other fabric.

This nursery was a VERY, VERY affordable fun option. I have a ton of pictures but can only upload 4 so I tried to show as much as I could in those 4 photos. We painted the main colors sky, ocean etc. and someone helped out with the characters.. but a tip would be to use a projector. Ask if you have questions!

Beautiful nursery! +Question♥

Excuse me, I know this is pretty old post.. >.>
But I'm doing my little boy's nursery in the precious planet theme and I'm in love with how the walls of your nursery looks!

Is there anyway you could email me other pictures showing each of the walls? [~So I could get an idea of how I could have my husband paint little Kingston's room.]

Thanks! Beautiful nursery!♥

Paint Colors

What blue and green paint colors and brand did you use? I haven't gotten my crib sets yet so I don't have anything to match it against, and would like to go ahead and get the room painted.

Thank you so much. It's actually all painted. We painted the sky and the ocean.. then painted the "grass" over the top in the middle then someone "freestyle" the animals.. from pictures ... However.. I would say if you don't know anyone that could paint I would do it with a projector. Paint cost about $30? from WalMart. The Ocean, Sky, Grass is regular semi-gloss "wall" paint. The animals are all acrylic paint from the crafts area.. then we sprayed the animals clear coat (1 can 3 coats) did all of them. Every time I walk into this room it’s like walking into a story book.. I point all the animals out to the babies.. I still just love it..and I think it will grow with them for a while.

Bedding and Accessories

Everything is Precious Planet or Rainforest by Fisher Price. I purchased stuff at different places as all of the stores carry slightly different things. Some of the places I purchased items from were: WalMart, Target, KMart, Ebay, Craigslist, or Amazon. Happy Shopping!
