Can They Be Different Sexes?

I am expecting identical twin boys(I always tell anyone who asks that they are identical) and I have lost count of how many times I've been asked can they be different sexes? My standard response is, they are identical it's impossible. Oh dear...

I, too, am expecting identical twins. My sister was absolutely positive that identical could be boy/girl, so she looked it up. There are extremely rare cases where identical twins are in fact boy/girl, however, there are birth defects that cause this. Therefore, it is definitely not something you WANT to have happen.

This happens to me too!! I'm only 16 weeks so I don't know what I'm having yet, but I always, always get the comment "Wouldn't it be fun if you had one girl and one boy?" I just have to wonder if anyone took high school biology.
