Can You Feel Them Both Move?

I was asked by another mother who was also carrying twins "I wonder if I'll be able to feel both of them moving at the same time?!" My response "Well since you have TWO babies in there, if they are both awake and moving then of course you can feel them both move. Unless they learn to take turns really early."

Of course she followed up with "At least they're smaller than normal babies so the movement will be less." I couldn't help but remind her that no, she was in fact carrying two "normal size" babies - they weren't half the size just because there were two - and the only reason they would be smaller is because they would probably be born early.

My twin boys were born 6 weeks early and they weighed 8lb 2oz and 8lb 1oz. God forbid I had gone to term!

And they moved both together and independantly CONSTANTLY! My stomach rolled like something out of the Aliens movies.

and I am TERRIFIED of having 22+ lbs of baby shot out my hoo-haa.

people tell me all the time: "oh, they'll be small because they're twins" no, they'll be small because they'll come earlier than 'normal' babies.

so I've stopped talking about my pregnancy. if people ask me when I'm due I reply "oh, I just had a big lunch" or "what are you talking about? I'm just fat". And god help the ones that want details- geez louise!! you're bagging my groceries: why do you need to know whether if I'm going vaginal? Or grandma- do you really, really need to ask at the dinnertable if I'm breastfeeding? Best yet: when random people come up to you and rub your belly- rub theirs back. it totally stops them in their tracks.

can you tell i'm near the end?? : )

I've had comments such as "it will be harder to find out the sex because they will be smaller than normal" to "your really not that big for having twins!" First off it is harder to find out the sex of both because they are two regular sized babies smooshed into one person, and tend to block each other! And second, I was 125 lbs when I got preggers, do people expect me to become a whale???? My babes are healthy and my ultrasounds, and I've had alot, say just that!

early on in my twin pregnancy , i soon learnt where each twin was laid, even to the point of telling the doppler listerner, where best to pick up each babies heartbeat, i loved it when i used to play when each twin would kick and i would just depress the skin back and baby would retaliate, My non identical boys were born at 37 w and 3d and weighed 5lb 4oz and 4lb 15 oz and i still think i was not that big for twins, natural delivery after 3 single babies my youngest when twins was born was 11years old lol , good luck to all twin and multiple mums, wonderful experience and feeling of fulfillment xxx

Yea I know what you mean! I had my twins and because I am petite I would get o well since your having two babies they are gonna be small babies. I had my twins at 38 weeks and they both weighed 5lbs 9oz. Not the biggest babies but average size!

Hi ..one of my boys were 9lbs 7 ounces and the other was 6lbs 9 ozs..lol..and they were 2 weeks early..people make the silliest comments sometimes
