My Story to Share

(Dallas, TX)

I vowed to God and myself that I'd share my journey when I was healed from Hyperemesis. I am happy to report that I was discharged yesterday from home healthcare. I had no clue as to how I'd help others deal with EXTREME nausea and vomiting but maybe this is a start. Be blessed!..

I found out that I was pregnant very early on. I was told that my hcg levels were rising at a very rapid rate. I was scheduled for an ultrasound two weeks later to measure the pregnancy and as soon as the Dr. placed the wand "in" the nurse said "WHOA!" Well, we found out that the comment was because there were two babies! I was in a state of euphoria.

Trying to wrap our minds around this news, it seemed as if nausea and vomiting set in at 6 weeks like clockwork. As a result, I became extremely dehydrated and vomited more than 10 times a day! My new Dr. immediately prescribed home healthcare nurses to visit me 3 times a week and I had an IV placed in my arm as well as a Zofran pump attached to my thigh. I will admit that it helped but the constant burning of the drug entering my thigh and the knotting, black and blue bruising was more than enough! I constantly prayed and asked God for healing because realistically I wasn't sure how long it was going to last but I had hope that it would end soon. Oh yeah, no appetite whatsoever!

To make matters worse, I threw up blood at 9 weeks and was admitted into the hospital for a Mallory-Weiss tear. All in all it has been rough but the support of my husband, family, and friends has made it easier to deal with.

Today, I am 16 weeks pregnant and I am virtually nausea free. I thank God every chance that I get because I know that it was because of Him and surrounding me with supportive, caring, and knowledgeable people that helped me get through this rough patch. I am excited at what the future holds and I pray that someone is encouraged by my story and know that the sacrifices that you are making will not go unnoticed and YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!

Praise God!!
by: Mary C

Praise God!!! I thought that I was the only one that had suffered that much pain, I was also diagnosed with hyperemesis with my first child. Syptoms were similar to yours, extreme nausea and vommiting every 30 mins, not being able to keep anything down, throwing up acid, and blood, had to take home an iv as well, had everyone praying for me!! It lasted from the 6th week until the 15th week, but because of all the sickness in the beginning I believe that God gave me grace to have such a short labor!! Yep only been in labor for three hours, so that was awesome compared to most of the pregnant women that were around me that havent been through what I have!! Now I'm pregnant with twins and it's totaly different, still have nausea and vommiting but it's bearable and not bad compared to my last pregnancy with one, thank God!!!!

Beautiful
by: Leslie

Thats beautiful to see your making it. God is good and anything is possible with him just believe and have faith. I just had my first daughter on June 19 2009 and did everything as natural as possible as God would want no meds no epidural o pain meds and vaginal birth. I kept my faith with God all the way through and he blessed me with a beautiful 7lb 9oz beautiful baby girl named Airriella. The only pain I went through was the contractions but its bearable just stay strong it wont last forever. As she came out there was no pain whats so ever which was very shocking but it was a great experience. I am now pregnant from my choice and pregnant with 2 beautiful girls now. I am 27 in a half wks preg. and trying to keep them in everyday. They almost came at 25 wks but they gave me steroids shots for there lungs in case they did come and they gave me another shot to stop my labor contractions. I am now on bedrest and making it. Iv been good so far in Jesus name. This is for everyone-stay strong, believe in God, and youll make it. Trust me! I love you all and God bless.
