Placenta
by: Jessica

It's hard to see the placenta at 11 weeks, as far as I understand, because it is just forming. Now that I am 21 weeks, we could see the placentas very well and saw that my twins have their own placentas. It has been confirmed that they are bg twins, so they are fraternal. Congrats on having twins!

How do you tell in the ultrasound where the placenta is? I am 11 weeks pregnant with twins and i am sure she told me but I truly was in so much shock, i don't remember anything she said to me that day!

2 placentas
by: Kimberly

I have 2 placentas. At first they also thought I had one placenta. As I got farther along they could tell there were two. Mine are probably fraternal, but the dr said we won't know for sure until they are born. My c-section is set for may 28th. Only 3 weeks and 2 days left!!! Mine are both girls.

Me too
by: Jessica

Same situation. 5 kids and preg with twins. My question, do you have 1 placenta or 2? My us looks just like yours. My us tech said it looked like 1 placenta but I didn't realize the importance of the number of placentas in determining whether or not they're identical or fraternal, so I didn't ask her to make sure. My next us is in 2 weeks, but I'm curious to see if you are having mz or dz twins.
