Twin Vaginal Breech Delivery at 39 Weeks

My Twin Birthing Experience

It was June 27th and I was scheduled for an induction at 9:00 pm because I was 39 weeks and 1 day. Which is considered over due for twins.

When we arrived at the hospital and met with the on call doctor she informed us that she was not comfortable with having a vaginal delivery with Baby B (Trevor) breech. So we decided to go ahead and leave and wait a couple of days when there would be a doctor that was willing to try to deliver vaginally.

Well, the babies had other plans because not 2 hours later at home my water broke. I wasn’t sure at first because it was just a little gush but as I laid there in bed for another 30 minutes I felt another gush. So back to the hospital we went.

In the time that we had been gone from the hospital the doctor who was not comfortable delivering had put a doctor that was on call and informed us that another doctor was on schedule the next day that would also try to deliver vaginally. An answer to my prayer.

Well, after laboring for 12 - 13 hours I was wheeled into the delivery (operating) room to have my twin boys. June 28, 2011 Trenton (baby A) came out head first at 1:50pm weighing 6 lbs 1 oz. Delivered by my midwife. I was able to cut his umbilical cord and 7 minutes later at 1:57pm Trevor (baby B) was born feet first. Weighing 6 lbs 2 oz. I later found out he was foot long breech so the Doctor had to break the bag of water and bring the other foot down before I could push. Delivered by Dr. Weeks.

It was a wonderful delivery I could not have asked for it to have worked out any better. The Lord was really with me and gave me my hearts desire.

I was born with my beautiful twin sister on Decemberr December 9th 1971(4 minutes apart) And at that time technology was NOT as advance as it is these years. My sister is the clearly the best gift that God provided for me we are 45yrs old and we're still together. One of us 10mths ago had a baby girl and we supported each other through that birth of that child...
The baby is healthy and she has 2 mothers now. The baby's is Addie and she's the love of our life and our little miracle from the Almighty God.
God Bless and keep all the twins safe with Grace out there until they return home at your GATES...
LOVE YOU ALL!

Coincidentally...

I myself am a twin. The story had a lot of similar traits that came with me and my twins delivery. I (Baby B) was breech, had to be pulled out by my foot, and was born seven minutes following my brother. He at 12:29 in the afternoon, me at 12:36. I just thought it was funny. Congrats on your twins!

Congratulations! Good for you for holding your ground. I hope I could do the same if I were in your situation.
