Very Nervous About Possible Mono Mono Twins

I have a 2 1/2 year old son who was born at 29 weeks (very healthy and normal now) due to incompetant cervix. I had to have a cerclage placed at 23 weeks and was hospitalized until I delivered. I just went to my OB today, and found out that I am pregnant w/ twins, but he said they look "too close together".

He did tell me that his ultrasound equipment was good, but not the best, and he will know more in 2 weeks (I am 7 1/2 weeks now). I am hoping that things are not what they appear to be now, and that my babies are going to be okay.

I want to thank all of the parents who have shared their stories on this site, and I am asking for prayers from you all.

God Bless You!

Mono mono indeed
by: Angie

So I am now 14 weeks and there is no membrane between my babies. Still nervous about it all.....I had a cerclage placed three days ago. I am now hoping I make it to the 26 week mark. At that time, I will be hospitalized until my babies are born. Please wish me luck, Moms!

10 weeks saw a membrane
by: Anonymous

It wasn't until I was 10 weeks that the ultrasound could see the amniotic membrane separating my twins. They are sharing a placenta tough. With my first ultrasound at 8 weeks they thought my twins might be mono mono. Naturally I did my research on it and started freaking out. Thankfully they could see the membrane later which really eased my fears, I freaked out for nothing. This is my first pregnancy and I'm really hoping everything runs smoothly. I hope that you hear good news at your next ultrasound!
