Who Got Pregnant With Twins On HCG?

by Megan
(Tennessee)

I am currently on hcg for fertility and was curious to know who got pregnant with twins while on it. I was warned of the chance of multiples since it is a fertility treatment. Just wondering how many women actually did conceive twins on this. Thanks so much ladies.

I did!
by: Hildy

Hi,

I was on the ovulation drug Clomid to help me start ovulating. I went in for an ultrasound on day 13 of my cycle to see if I showed any signs of starting ovulation.....apparently I had 4 eggs. That same day I received an HCG shot to release an egg. On day 28 of my cycle, I took a home preg. test and it was positive! The next week I went in for my first ultrasound (6 weeks gestation) and to my and my husband's surprise the doc told us it was TWINS! Apparently, the HCG shot made me release two eggs!

IVF
by: alora808

I am currently pregnant with twins via IVF. I only use HCG as a trigger shot before the egg retrieval and after the transfer which is supposed to help with implantation. Did they give you that as a trigger shot? Are you also an FSH (follicular stimulating hormone)?

what were the meds you were taking?

did you go through IVF? usually hcg is a trigger shot after you go throught stimulation. it triggers ovulation, so a few days then they go in to get the eggs... apx 36 hrs after your shot?

i did ivf and had 3 embies places and now prego w/ twins. if you're not ok with the idea of twins, you need to really have a good talk w/ your dr and just implant one embie...

good luck..
