These are our fraternal twins at 11 weeks :) They are both just over 2 inches long and have heart rates of 163 & 168. One seemed to be much more active than the other. I am 13 weeks now & both are doing well. My belly is huge already & I can feel them moving almost daily now. I look like I am 5 to 6 months pregnant with a single baby! The extreme morning (all day) sickness is just starting to pass & I can stay awake for more than 6 hours now. We have 3 older sons (10, 15, & 18), so these twins were a shock! Fraternal twins do run on my mothers side. I didn't realize that until I told her the news. My mother named off 7 sets of twins I never knew existed. Most were Great Aunts, Great Grandmothers, distant cousins, etc... My husband & I are just amazed that there are 2 in there & hope 1 of them is a little girl!

I really don't know. This was at 11 weeks. They were fraternal with monozygotic placenta. We lost one possibly transfusion syndrome at 3 weeks. With a thin membrane make sure your obgyn checks the placenta and monitors their weight. These were 4.2 and 6.13 at delivery. It was a terrible oversight for us.

Speedy response

Hi Jamie. O live on North Carolina. I am soooooooo curious as to how our ultrasounds look sooooo much alike. How is it possible that two womens wombs look just alike? The shading is the same, the infants even look too similar for it to be so coincidental. Please respond soon. Thank you.

Twins... Miracle... Blessing!!!
by: kcmunoz

Hi Jamie! I loved your sonogram pic :) its amazing! I did too notice that the babies seem to be identical!!! I just found out I'm carrying twins myself and the pic looks just like mine. Same sac... Sharing same placenta... only a thin membrane separating them :) all I know is that mine are identical.. Same sex... And growing! How exciting! Good luck to you and your family :) God bless you!

Fraternal?
by: Sammi

Hi, Your little ones are oh so adorable, but I noticed something very peculiar. It seemed to me that they are identical. Almost 99.9% of the time when the babies are seperated by a very thin membrane they are identical, due to the egg seperation after two or three days after conception. Fraternal twins tend to have a very thick membrane separating them. I may be nutty, but they look to be Identical! Have you already asked your ob/gyn about this, or has it not really crossed your mind? Good Luck, you have such beautiful little twinkies! (I'm currently pregnant with twins myself)

Dear worried :)
by: Jamie

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't worry about problems that may occur. I was told that once the heartbeats are found the risk of miscarriage decreases dramatically. And again after 13-15 weeks it decreases even more. I am only 5'2" and started out around 115, so I'm not huge...you would be amazed at what a healthy body can hold. One of the girls I work with gained only 28 lbs and had 4 1/2 & 5 1/2 lb twins...others gain 50 pounds. I am now 17 weeks and have gained 12 lbs. Just say many prayers and hope that she carries them 36 to 38 weeks! That's what I do :) Hope I have helped some.

Worried
by: Anonymous

My daughter just found out she is pregnant with twins and she is about 9 1/2 weeks. I am so concerned. She previouly lost a baby boy at 5 1/2 months into the pregnancy from placenta abuption. Now with a twin pregnacy, what are the risk. She is a tiny woman and I am concern if she can carry these babies. Any feedback is appreciated

Anyone got the sequential screening?
by: Anonymous

Congrats to everyone! I am 12 weeks with fraternal but I have tomorrow the sequential screening ultrasound. Did anyone did it? I read most of you saying you are 11 weeks and your next US is in 3 weeks? I am super scared of that test. Good luck to everyone :)

Congratulations Jennifer

I too get comments like that all the time. I'm starting to get used to them & just answer with a "yes" or "no". I know I will be quite large before it's over, but having people remind me daily gets very old. I just try to smile & pacify them :)

Congratulations. I am in the same boat as you. For one I too look 6 months pregnant, and I have 3 boys at home. The most common comment, "Maybe it will be 2 girls" I just hope for one. LOL

11 weeks Twins
by: GinnyG

I don't know what it feels like to have them move. But the other day I was walking to the car and I felt something on the side like something floating or something weird. I am glad to hear ur twins are moving. I thought I was imagining it. I have my 2nd US in 3 weeks too. I can't wait to see them again. I hope everything is okay. These are my first.

Cheri

I have been feeling movement since around 11 weeks. Every 2 to 3 days especially at night when all is quiet. It feels to me like little fish. Definitely not gas (although I have lots of that at times too). Congratulations on your twins!

WOW!
by: Cheri P.

Congrats! I am 11 wks. My next u/s is in 3 wks. You can feel them move already? When did you first feel them move, and it wasn't gas? Sometimes I think I feel a flutter, but then, I realize it is gas bubble. I am huge like 5 mos too, like when I was pregnant with my other 3 singletons, but the last one was 13 years ago, so I feel like I am pg for the first time all over again.
