When is a Typical 3D or 4D Ultrasound Scheduled With Twins?

I am 20 weeks pregnant with identical twin girls and my doctor keeps talking about having a 3D and 4D ultrasound later on in my pregnancy. How far along is this usually done?

my doctor is doing my 3d at 28 weeks, he said thats his normal time for singletons so he just sticks with it

I had them done at about 21 weeks. It was neat to see the baby resting it's head on the other. However, at my most recent sonogram they tried to do it again, and there was not enough fluid to see anything :(. It is best to go sooner than later with the twins.

I'm booked in for a 4d scan at 25wks I had one at 26 wks when i was pregnant with my singleton daughter but was told a week earlier is best with twins due to them being slightly smaller and getting a better view of them.I was also told that I probably wont be able to see them in the same shot together which is a shame but I'm going to ask for 2 dvd's so I have one of each of them.
