11 Weeks Pregnant With Twins & Looking For Reasurrace

by Suzanne

Hi I'm expecting twins. I am looking for some reasurance as I am having quite bad cramping, no bleeding, but had some at start of the pregnancy.

My pregnancy has been stressful since the start and I have had, to date, 4 scans. The last one being on Wednesday because the cramping had gotten so bad. Has anyone experienced this as doctors keep telling me everything is fine despite having 2 miscarrage scares. I have also had a call for my doctors today to ask if I can give a urine sample every month throughout my pregnancy and don't know why this is...any ideas?

I have a 21 month old toddler & pregnancy with him was not easy but better than this one. Out of my legue and can't find any info on the web. Just looking for some help and advise as I am really confused.

Cramping

This is my second pregnancy too and the doctor told me it's just my uterus expanding faster than it would for a singleton pregnancy. I never had bleeding so wasn't to worried but it was pretty constant for multiple hours in a row.
Take a deep breath and focus on your diet, fluid intake and getting rest when you feel the cramping.

I am 17 weeks pregnant with (IVF) di-di twins, and had notable cramping through my whole first trimester. Enough so, that I pretty much spent my 1st 3 months waiting to miscarry. Instead, the kids are growing great, the cramping went away (right around beginning of 2nd trimester), and all is well! (I, too, had a miscarriage of a singleton prior to this pregnancy. I know it is hard not to worry, but, at least for me, all that scary cramping really was normal and from a stretching uterus.

Best of luck and congrats!

Probably not to worry...
by: Tara

I was pregnant with twins last summer. I had horrid cramping and some bleeding as well. The cramping was so terrible I kept going to the ER for it. They said my uterus was stretching a lot in preparation for the twins' growth and not to worry.

In the end my twins were diagnosed as mono-mono and my partner and I decided to terminate the pregnancy. Because of this, I don't know if the cramping/bleeding would have gone away so I can't attest to that.

Best wishes!
