Aren't You Too Young To Have Twins?

Of course pre pregnancy

Of course pre pregnancy

A woman at a graduation party actually asked, "but aren't you too young to have twins?" Which I answered with a, "Aren't you too old to be asking rude questions?" Due to the fact that I am 17 years old, married and expecting, a lot of women think they are doing me a favor by feeling bad for me which is ridiculous because this is my dream life. Having two identical boys was just an added blessing :)

16 and pregnant with twins
by: Anonymous

I’m 16 and pregnant with twins... I get a lot of negative comments and always get told that I’m to young to be pregnant or even carrying twins. I’m like stuff happens get over it. I get laughed at and judged a lot for being pregnant at 16 but I’m still in school and working and engaged to my babies father and we are making out just fine

Love my life

I am also 19 and married. My husband is 25 and we are expecting our first child.....children? Point is this is my fist pregnancy, I am 8 weeks pregnant, and I'm supposedly not supposed to be showing yet but I am....and I'd like to think that we are having twins. I've asked other ladies if they find me to be big for how far along I am and they say it's just bloating....yet it is hard to the touch so I know ts my uterus and I have only gained 2 lbs since I was pregnant. I wanted to see if it were a possibility at my age to be having twins. Seems that there is. Thank you guys!

Advice!
by: Anonymous

I'm 19 years old and 6 1/2 - 7 weeks with twins, my partner is 22 and we have been together only 3 and a half months but so much Love already built between us, he has been away for work since I found out when I was about 4 weeks. He was in shock and couldn't Handel the news and in his mind there was no way he was having babies at this time in our lives.. We haven't been able to see each other or he hasnt been to any doctors or ultrasounds so in my eyes he Hasnt felt the emotion I have.... I have polyesistic ovaries and a lot of sists on my them too so in my mind I thought falling pregnant would be so so hard!! It's always been my dream to have twins or triplets but I am just so scared of the thought of doing it on my own and the thought of loosing him brakes my heart! But the thought of loosing my babies will most likely follow me forever. I am struggling with my decision and would like advice from a complete stranger instead of friends and family

"You're what's wrong with the world."
by: Anonymous

I am almost 27 weeks pregnant with twins. Here's a a conversation I had with an older woman when I stopped at the gas station one morning...
Woman: "You know, you're what's wrong with the world."
Me: "Excuse me?"
Woman: "Teens having babies."
Me: "Um, I'm 27 years old and married..."
Woman: "Oh. Ok, whatever." *walks away*
I couldn't believe the nerve of that woman. Who does she think she is? She's lucky she didn't open her big mouth to the wrong person...

You're right I am too young... you want one?

While it's very true that the incidence of twin pregnancies increases with mother's age, peaking between 35-40, younger people CAN have twins! I am 23 and expecting twin girls. I have to say as a nurse one of my first thoughts when I found out was, "I'm kind of young for twins." But hey, someone has got to be in the small percentage of young women with twins!

Teens and women over the age of 35 are more likely to have twins that the 20-35 age bracket.

Congrats to everyone! Enjoy your little ones!

Smh Really?
by: Tia (Auntie 2b)

So my 17 year old sister is pregnant with twins. She is 13 wks. & everytime we tell someone she's pregnant, we always get the question " aren't you too toung to have twins"? EXCUSE ME RUDE INSENSITIVE @$$HOLE BUT I DIDN'T SEE THE AGE REQUIREMNT ON HAVING TWINS! Yes we all know she is too young to be a parent but stuff happens. She is engaged to the father. We as her family will support her and the twins. I dont understand how people can be soo rude & blunt about their comments these days.

i'm 16 years old and expecting twins! i'll be 17 when they get here, but i've been asked the same thing!!

i think people are just dumb, age doesn't effect like if you can have twins, or not.

JUst so you know I had my twins the 23rd of november and it was two boys weighing at 4lbs 12oz and 4lbs 13oz both perfectly healthy and we got to go home thanksgiving. Please tell your daughter that its really hard and to not to try to stupidly be super mom like I have and accept help when she can.I've cried more than I ever thought I would....... But that's because gabriel smiled at me for the first time yesterday!!!!! :) everything is awesomely worth it even thoug I didn't forget how hard the pregnancy was regardless of what everyone said.....

of course...
by: ectastic Gma to be!

I am expecting my first grandchildren, twins.

My daughter is only nineteen. She must have skipped that box on the application where it asked if she was old enough to handle twins!?!? She will have as hard a time as any new mom with more to love. It is all I can do to not get angry for her when the stupid comments fall out of other peoples face. She's a bright, beautiful, and capable woman. She will be wonderful with her new babies and do fine. I suppose it's the mommy in me that makes me so protective of her. I cant understand why anyone would want to distress a pregnant woman and how can they be so rude. We are learning to laugh and try to see the humor in the rudeness. Thanks for giving us some other insight and ways to laugh about it.

Exactly!

Everybody thinks that when girls get the instinct to become a mother at such a young age it's because they want to grow up to fast but its not! Back in the beginning of human civilization girls were married off by 14 and expected to fulfill a womans duties! We would still be capable of those mothering and nurturing skills if society didn't dumb us down.
(NOT THAT I WANT TO START MARRYING GIRLS OFF AT 14!) LOL that would be a bit extreme
