Extremely Sick And Tired During Twin Pregnancy?

by Shareece
(Newark, CA)

I am 8 weeks pregnant, and the doctors confirmed it's twins via ultrasound. I had an inkling I was having twins because I had a super positive test before I even missed my period...

My question is... Is it normal to feel morning sickness all day with twins? With my other children I was okay for the most part, but now I feel so weak, super tired, and I have no appetite.

Any recomendations would be appreciated.

Just rolling with it...

Same Story Here.

I'm 20 weeks now with girl twins and I have been sick since around 4 weeks.

Morning Sickness (all day sickness for me) was awful. It started to ease up a bit (only twice a day) around 18 weeks and then hit me on the head again this week.

Plus the outrageous acid reflux/heartburn + migraines that started around 17 weeks -- I somedays don't know how I'm going to make it to delivery day.

I'm completely exhausted by 7pm every night and then I toss and turn all night trying to get comfortable only to be woken up around 2am/3am sick to my stomach -- if im lucky i'll get back to bed for an hour before waking up for work.

This is my first pregnancy and I have to be honest, its making me re-think having a large family.

I am currently 8 weeks pregnant and I'm sick all the time! It hit me at 6 weeks exactly! I've lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks :( They did put me on a nausea pill and it helps a little but I'm still very sick and tired constantly. It makes you start to feel helpless and it made me break down and cry a few times now. I have 3 other children and I feel bad cuz I can't attend to them like I should. I've never felt so sick like this before! I have 2 boys and a girl and still this is the worst! I keep hearing it could be twins im having lol..we shall see. I would definitely be surprised :) 💖 I hope the next 7 months hurry up I can't live like this being so sick.

sickness!
by: JJ

My first two pregnancies I had bad morning sickness and nausea til about 17 weeks. This third pregnancy is killing me though, throwing up 4x a day, nauseas all the time.knackered and feeling low. I'm pretty sure I'm not having twins, they're quite rare, will find out in a few days. I think every pregnancy is just a bit different, I wouldn't read more severe sickness as a sign for twins.x for those that are preg with twins and the sickness is bad, I hope it disappears for you asap! 😄

I'm So Lost like this!
by: NikiJay

I'm 10 weeks pregnant and this is beyond difficult for me. I've had two singletons and this was a bit of a surprise. I thought for sure something was wrong with the intensity of sickness I was feeling, but come to find out fraternal twins. I have felt like such utter crap, I've had headaches everyday for a month, back pains, and nausea along with severe fatigue. I take my vitamins, and have nausea pills I take, and even Tylenol, but nothing has been helping me. I can only wish to heavens to hurry this pregnancy, this is horrific to deal with every day. :(

I'm 13 weeks with twins. This is my first pregnancy. I didn't know what to expect, but I did not expect this! I found out at 4 weeks I was pregnant, at 5 weeks I was soooo sick, and at 6 weeks I found out it was twins. I have been non stop sick. 24/7 nausea and vomiting. It finally started to ease up this week but it is not completely gone! I am hoping for a better second trimester!

Strong feeling of twins...
by: Mommy of 4

I'm a mother of 4 and I am 6 weeks pregnant now.. This is nothing like any of my other pregnancies.. My first was a single baby boy and was sick my entire pregnancy... All Morning sickness all day. My second, third and fourth were pretty good rarely anything... Maybe morning sickness here and there and a couple other things, but rarely.. I got lucky with no stretch marks with any of my 4 pregnancies.. Yeaaaa...(knocking on wood).. Anyway with this pregnancy I'm getting everything, 3 DPO had a sudden nausea feeling, and started bloating bad with cramps all over belly. Got a positive read on PT test 6 days before missed period. Got blood drawn 2 days before missed period and HGC levels were only 311. Don't quite know why the nurse didn't schedule me for a week later.. Never felt any of that with the other 4 pregnancies. Still bloated on hands left anckle and belly, Still bloated 2 weeks later with hot flashes, dizziness, nausea, fatigue but can't sleep, oh yea.. When I'm hungry, I need to eat now.. I try and nap with my 18 month old but I just lay there.. Not quite sure what to think. All I keep thinking about is twins.. I've got twins on the brain, I'm really hoping, cause my tubes are getting tied after this one.. Hope my last pregnancy will be twins.. Oh, I'm also in the age limit of 36 and a half..

I am a mother of three single birth's and I am now 8 weeks with twins and I could tell the difference immediately after about 4 weeks. I am so sick all the time and so tired then at night I just can't sleep. It seems like it's normal but gosh this is something I've never gone through before.

I have 6 month old twins..they were my third pregnancy and with the first two I never had morning sickness or really got tired..in fact once I started nesting around 28 weeks my house was spotless and I had more energy than I do when I'm not expecting..with the twins I thought I would feel the same and just kept waiting to fell that great pulse of energy but it never came..I had morning sickness heart burn..you name it..only worse than any other pregnancy..and I guess that's normal..i was twice as pregnant as I had ever been before..I think if youre worn out it means you need rest..and you can always clean house after the twins go to pre-school..that's my plan anyway.

Welcome to Twin Pregnancy!
by: Cheri

Congrats on the new good news!!!!

The bad news is that you will notice that you have every symptom in the book and then some amplified due to the double dose of PG hormones that you produce with a twin pregnancy.

Do not be discouraged, but be well informed. You will get bigger quicker...I was in maternity clothes at 10 weeks and have gained a significant amount of weight. The fatigue in the first tri is very difficult to overcome, but nothing compared to 3rd tri, and I hope that you don't get the nasty insomnia that I have now.

You will also notice that you are short of breath more so with this pregnancy as compared to a singleton pregnancy.

The good news is that once you feel your babies moving around (first flutters will be earlier than with singletons), it makes it all worth while and gives you the "oomph" to keep going.

I hope this does not sound too negative, but I feel like you should be informed. Pick up a good twin pregnancy book, it may help. This site has been a God send for me to keep my sanity!!!! Different women experience their pregnancies in different ways....mine is a fraternal twin pregnancy and there is more stuff to learn if you are having ID twins....

Sending healthy vibes and prayers your way!!!!

Issues during Pregnancy
by: novembertwins

I agree. I am 22 weeks and just got out of the hospital after a 3 day stay.

I have had a lot of pregnancy induced issues since the beginning of this pregnancy.

Good luck to you.

Yes!

Supposedly b/c of extremely increased hormone levels, women with twin are "morning" sick 24/7 for their entire pregnancy. (Or at least I was.) I lost 25 lbs during my pregnancy and my doctor said it was normal...

Good Luck!
