Just Had 7 Week Scan and Discovered Twins!

by Sonya

Only thing is there are two heartbeats but one measures 7 weeks 0 days and the other 6 weeks 2 days. Is it normal to have such a size difference? The technician told me not to get my hopes up for twins :(

My B/G twins measures a week apart gestationally my entire pregnancy. My daughter was one week behind and even came out weighing almost a full pound less than my son. They were both healthy and she only needed a little oxygen before staying with mommy. It is completely normal, with twins, it's even possible to concieve them on different days (if they are fraternal.)

It's totally normal. At my 7 week ultrasound one measured 6 weeks and one measured 7 weeks. The doctor said one baby may have just been turned the wrong way. Now I'm 16 weeks and the babies are both measuring the exact same. So there isn't anything to worry about I'm sure both babies are healthy. Congratulations on the twins and I hope your pregnancy goes well!
