This is one of my ultrasound pics at around 10 weeks along. You can clearly see that each baby has their own sac, although they did turn out to be identical twins.

Anyhow, I thought I might as well add my own twin ultrasound images even thought this is my site...lol! And, yes, that's my belly comparison on the Twin Belly Gallery page too.

Enjoy and thanks for your contributions!

Kindest regards,
Kellie

New to the twining
by: Ashley Williams

As of today , I'm 9 weeks with my first set of twins. Because I was overly excited at my appointment today I didn't ask a lot of questions . I know they are in separate sacs but now I'm curious to find out if they will be identical 😍

The Doctors
by: Anonymous

Just watched The Doctors and Dr. Lisa said two sacs mean fraternal twins; she said nothing about could be identical. I had twins and heard two sacs mentioned but when I asked my doctor, he said they are identical twins. Never had a DNA test on them but they are curious since they look a little different and I think it's just because there is a big weight difference; fingers, toes, shape of body, hair color, eye color; everything is the same down to the clef in their chin. I should ask The Doctors show about this.

Gives me hope!
by: Mommy Taureau

This gives me hope that my two boys will be identical! The doctor said by looking at my ultrasound, that the twin peak is thick, so that there is only a 10% chance of them possibly being identical. I am currently 26w2d today, and excited to be counting down to their arrival!

Twins seperate sacs
by: Sinead

I had my first scan at 12 weeks and its really clear that they have seperate sacs there is a thick line between them both. Does this mean there is a chance they could be identical but a boy and girl?

Identical
by: Kellie

My twins ended up having separate amnions and chorions (as you can kind of make out above in my photo), but we found out they were identical after DNA zygosity testing when they were almost a year old. The only way to know for sure if twins are identical via ultrasound is if they both share the same amniotic sac. Ohterwise, unless they are of different sexes, you'll likely have to wait until they're born to find out for sure.

Best of luck!

They are so cute!

question~ I had my first U/S at 8 wks they saw twins & thought they were identical(in one sac 2 yolks), I had another at 12 and they were in sep sacs with a very thin line between them. Was this the case with yours? Yours is the most simliar pic to mine. What do you think Identical or frat.? I will try to post a pic if you need it. ~V~
