Gaining Weight
by: Anonymous

Hi Ladies, It is nice to read the comments and compare. I am 16 weeks tomorrow with (90% chance) fraternal twins. I have been stressing about my weight for weeks, because I just started gaining and read that by 20 weeks should have gained around 20-25 pounds, to ensure the health of babies at birth. Over the past two weeks with finally able to keep food down, I have gained almost 10 pounds. I have never in my life thought I would love to see those numbers on the scale. My husband keeps telling me the weight will come, stop stressing. Great to read comments to see what others are experiencing.

15 weeks and 5 days
by: Jenn

I am opposite, I see the docotr again in 1 week and we get to find out what we are having.(Hoping for a girl and a boy) but we have an 8 year old daughter and a 5 year old son at home now so we are not too worried about the sex of the babies. I am starting to get a little worried though, I am going on week 16 and I have gained a total of 2 pounds.I eat al the time and havent been sick in over a month, I had gained more than this by now with my singlton pregnancies. Is this normal?

Hang in there Pam!! I ended up gaining 20 kilos in all/ 44lbs and gave birth at 7 months. The girls weighed 5.2 and 5.7 lbs and were in perfect health! They're now 10 weeks old and it's such a pleasure to take care of them!!! Hope your pregnancy goes well, and hope you're able to keep yourself busy with books, tv, movies...

Weight gain
by: Pam

Don't worry- I went from running 5 to 10 miles a day and training for trithlons to almost complete bed rest doctor's orders. I'm at 18 weeks and have gained 23 pounds and totally freaking out about it. My husband is totally sick of hearing me complain and I cry almost every day. But I guess as long as my identical twin girls are healthy, it will be worth it. Hang in there!!

You Guys are doing Great!

As long as you are healthy and the babies are healthy which your doctor will tell you if you're not don't worry ladies. I'm hanging in there with you. From all the books and what my doctor says with twins you should gain between 40-56 lbs. Which is 1-1.5 lbs/ week. It sounds like everyone is doing close to that. Remember 35-37 weeks is normal for twins and if your at 56 lbs at that point. Check out the math. Don't worry, be happy. I worry about it too but, 1 day at a time as long as you're taking it easy, with your prenatals and trying to get a mix in your diet of fruits/veggies, protein, and some fat, as well as grains you can't go wrong. I think. That's what I've been trying to go with. Of course, it's 1 fruit/veggie a day, 2 grains a day, 2-3 proteins such as milk, yogurt,or string cheese. If I can squeeze more fruit and veggies I try but right now they don't want to go down. And, I usually take my pre-natal after I've eaten at least 2 meals. The hardest part is trying to eat every 2 hours whether it's a little peck or a serving. And, I feel like I'm going to float away from all of the fluids I'm taking in. It's really comforting to be able to talk to other ladies in the same boat.:) Especially about the weight my husband is so tired of hearing me talk about it. Good luck to all of you and Big Hugs.

Well, we had to wait till the 21st week to finally find out if they were boys/girls...so now we know! 2 girls...how fun! Hope things are still going well for you all!
BTW, I'm a few days away from 5 full months (20 weeks) and have gained 22 pounds/10 kilos. I think it's a lot...how would you all compare?

Looking Good
by: Anonymous

You look great. I'm right about the same weight gain because of the nausea. Trying to eat what I can. I'm at 13 weeks and at 9 pounds weight gain. The stomach issues didn't really hit that point with discomfort until 10 or 11 weeks. We're having fraternals and waiting to see if it's a boy and girl or two girls.

Good luck. Gingerale has certainly helped me. And, my friend suggested a Juice Plus juicer so I'm going to grab one.
